Haiku on photo #27
INOUE, Seigetsu (1822?-1887) is a legendary bleaching haiku-poet in Japan.
Autumn is the season that makes us little ennui and sentimental. Losing daylight day by day may lead it and it calls the sense of 侘び寂びwabi-sabi, one of the unique sense of Japanese culture.
This haiku was written for the mourning for the death of his friend's father and cherishing the memories of the father's life.
The word of KATAMI, we usually use the chinese character as '形見', but at this case he used an unusual combination of kanjis. '紀' means a chronicle and '念' means minding.
